Default moates ostrich 2.0...

is the 2.0 version compatible with the Crome Free? i'm curious to know which program to download (preferably free) to work with it. I already have a datalogger that came w/ my wideband that works quite well so i don't need that capability, just something that works with an RTP. thanks.

btw- i already searched on this and didn't really find an answer so if you feel like bugging me about it, go do it to someone else.

Crome Free doesn't have real-time tuning or the ability to upload to an Ostrich.

Just my opinion, but if you already have an ostrich and you are looking to pay for software. I would go with eCtune or Neptune over Crome Pro. I still use Crome Pro occasionally for some people but I prefer the ease and added features that eCtune has.

yeah thats what i was considering last night too. i dont really know much about eCtune or Neptune but ill definitely be looking into them. ill be doing just a typical street tune, no dyno tuning for now. any preference between the three for a street tune? (i.e. auto-adjustment, datalogging, etc)...

EDIT..............

holy crap! Xenocron is offering a Neptune RTP/Moates Demon package for $399... any reason i shouldnt jump on that? sounds like a killer deal.

eCtune is my choice between the three. It works great for a street tune. There were some issues with registration, but that is fixed now. I'm sure Neptune does as well on street tuning. However, I have never used Neptune so I can't say exactly what it's like to use.

You can get the same deal for eCtune. http://store.ectune.com/Shop/tabid/2...2/Default.aspx

Check out the NepTune RTP software and see if you like it:

You can also trade in your ostrich for the neptune demon combo and get a nice discount

I'm really digging the Neptune RTP system. i haven't heard a single bad thing about it so far and it looks fairly simple to install and lots of support. one question though... my laptop is pretty ancient and it has an Intel Celeron processor 1.3GHz, 256MB SDRAM memory, and a 20GB hard drive... lol... does that meet the system requirements for the tuning program?

It's plenty fast, but your RAM is lacking. I can't say if it will work well for you or not. I can't remember a time during the development of NepTune when I only had 256MB of ram. You'll likely want to get more.

okay thanks.

looks like i've decided on Neptune RTP and if the RAM isn't enough, i might upgrade to 512 or if thats too expensive, maybe just look into getting a new(ish) laptop. thanks for the help everyone.

512 should be pretty cheap to purchase! Enjoy NepTune.

Crome Free DOES have the ability to upload to an Ostrich and Burn chips using the Burn1 or Burn2.

The only thing you cannot do is datalog...this is the only feature unlocked purchasing Crome PRO (datalogging)

Sorry, I must have misunderstood... and now it makes even less sense to pay for it.
