Default Which Exhaust (Not Asking About Brand)?

I have a 96 EK hatch with a B18C1 ready to drop in. If I were to buy an exhaust, which one would I need? Will the ones designed for the 96-00 CX/DX Hatches work? I know the cat placement on the stock HB is different, so will a HB exhaust bolt up to the B18C1? Any help would be appreciated.

'SUP!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, now here's the problem.. as you know on your EK, your stock cat is part of the exhaust manifold. So the EK exhausts are not (usually) designed to have a cat underneath the car so (usually) they're longer to take up the space of not having a cat underneath.

So basicly an EK h/b exhaust lenth wise will reach right to (or very close to) the GS-R front pipe! So chances are the exhaust will have to be possible shortened to have enough space to squeeze a cat converter inbetween the ge-r front pipe and ek h/b exhaust.

Since either way you'll have to have a custom cat made, you should decide what header you want to run so you don't take the chance of having to have *2* cats made up in the long run (ex. if you decide to do with a JDM ITR 4-1 header w/2.5" flange)

hope this helps! But get a EK exhaust (so the muffler physically fits properly) but be prepared that it will most likely have to be modified.

oh yeah one more thing, I'm 99.9% sure the angle of the flanges are differ from the GS-R to Civic. I know if you had a B16A it would bolt onto a EK h/b exhaust perfectly (but no cat! woohoo!) because the flanges are on the same angle

SO either way you'll have to get something made up.

My friend has a '99 EK w/2001 GS-R swap. To get him to his gf's dad's muffler shop, I bolted my old JDM B16A front pipe to his GS-R exhaust manifold and it bolted onto the stock EK h/b exhaust perfectly! (no cat hehheeheh)

The flange on the 2001 GS-R is different, and the front pipe is a different length too. It wasn't even close to the Civic exhaust. (2" too short)

Anyways, now he's running the GS-R stock header, to a custom welded carsound cat, SiR b-pipe to a Magnaflow muffler. (nice and quite)

Thanks for the comments.

I think I'm gonna hold off on the exhaust for now. I'm gonna suffer with the stock CX pea-shooter for now and just get the JDM header, 2.5" cat, and exhaust at the same time.
