Default Ek Exhaust

Ok guys wifey's Ek needs a full exhaust system. When I say full I mean from header to muffler. Shes's got a big old fart can on their that I want to get rid of. Check engine light is coming and I had it checked and it's saying exhaust cat. The exhaust cat is cracked. Looking for something simple and not to crazy or loud. Any ideas of what I should get or if anyone knows of something for sale or who has one please let me know. Thanks guys. BTW it's an auto Dx hatchback and it has a stock motor I believe it's a D series.

Is she lookin for an aftermarket exhaust?

If it were ME..heres what id do since its wifey...
Get some cheap aftermarket headers, find a stock cat converter and mid pipe and use the ITR muffler...i believe it fits right up on the hatch? might not...either way if she wants a lil growl to it, put a short ram or replace resinator box with a cone from autozone, cheap headers, and a stock setup from CAT back. That way she wont have to worry about piggy's pullin her for her exhaust, but it will still sound good at full throttle.

Stock muffler (or stock replacement) and then get the piping done locally. I did this and love it. I matte blacked the muffler (besides the tip with a stock finisher) so it's not a prone to exterior rust.

For '96-'00 Civics they all have 1.6L SOHC (D-series) engines besides the Si. The CX, DX, DX-V (aka SE aka VP) and LX all have the non-VTEC. The EX has the VTEC. The HX has the VTEC-E. The Si has the DOHC VTEC.

Coupes are the DX, EX, HX and Si.

Hatches are the CX and DX.

Sedans are the DX, DX-V (SE/VP), EX and LX.
