i recently put a d16z6 swap into my 91 honda crx si... ran the car for about a month and recently it leak alot of oil from somewere under the dizzy i took the distributor off to make sure its not coming from there and its not.... any one else run into a problem like this and find out were the oil was coming from?

any help is appriciated.. thank you

 

could be the O ring that is on the back of the distributor. have you checked that yet?

 

yup... its a brand new distributor prolly about a week or 2 old... i even put the tight stuff silicone around it to make sure its not leaking from there and still leaks

check the valve cover gasket from behind the dizzy...!!!

 

same with valve cover gasket its brand new and its not leaking from that high up..

Any possibility of snapping pictures? As far as I know the only things oil related that can possibly leak in that area are the distributor, VTEC solenoid, or head gasket. In any case, if you can't see where it's coming from you can hit it with some degreaser or brake cleaner and drive it around. You should be able to see where it's coming from after a bit.

 

My VTEC solenoid leaked, I would check that.

 

after work ill get a picture the oil may be coming from the vtec solenoid but cant really tell.. i can start the crx up and it immediatly starts to leak and runs down under distributor do the from right were the trans and engine bolt up. havent drove the car for like a week but i did notice the vtec was acting up.. i have acouple different vtecs so ill try one of the others tonight
