oil leak under distributor of JDM D15b - O-ring already replaced
i have a jdm d15b swapped 96 cx hatch. i have replaced the head gasket, the o-ring on the distributor, and the VTEC solenoid gasket. im still leaking oil from the passenger side of the motor. it looks to be coming from right under the dizzy. im a little lost now, what else could be leaking?

Re: oil leak issue
Is there oil inside the distributor? If so, it's a bad internal oil seal. If not, the culprit is most likely the O-ring.
And there are many available aftermarket O-rings and it is possible to do a bad O-ring install.

I had this same problem on my 93 del sol with D16Z6.
After I changed the distributor o-ring there was still an oil leak past the o-ring and I had used a Honda OEM o-ring.
What I did was loosened the distributor and backed it out of the block just enough about an inch to put a seal of silicon grease between the block and the base of the distributor where it touches the block. This was enough to stop the oil seepage. It's been good for over a year now. I got the silicon grease from a NAPA parts store, it's made by 3M. I use it on all rubber gaskets and o-rings now.

Re: oil leak under distributor of JDM D15b - O-ring already replaced
The internal oil seal is often neglected. After the outer o-ring is replaced, this is the only part left where oil can leak through the distributor. There is a small hole where the lubricating oil passes to return back to the engine. It can be easily clogged and so oil will accumulate near the oil seal. Cleaning this would prevent accumulation of oil but still sufficient to lubricate the shaft and seal. Oil leakage can be prevented or reduced depending on the condition of the seal.

There's nothing wrong with using a this film of form-a-gasket in addition to the O-ring, but it sounds like your internal might need a little inspecting.
