here's as detailed as i can get

Patient: 94 civic ex coupe 5spd
d16z6 with 150k miles
100% stock engine

symptoms: car idles normal as its warming up
once car is @ operating temp, will average around 900 rpm
when i rev the engine or drive the car, it behaves normally
when i slow down and let off the clutch, the idle sticks from 1.5k-2.5k
i have to pull the pedal BACK with my foot to make the engine idle at regular rpm

attempts: sprayed the TB butterfly valve with carb cleaner in case it's sticky
took off the IACV and cleaned it with carb cleaner (although this DID eliminate the idle problem, it shortly returned the same day)

can anyone help?

 

I have exactly the same problem on my 99 Accord.
I thought of cleaning the throttle body and valve.

however, I noticed that the throttle pulley or butterfly does not return to initial position when releasing the gas pedal. It returns to a position that is few degrees before the idle position. I noticed that the pulley bolt was a little bit loose ... I tighetened it a little bit and the pulley now goes back to the idle position right after releasing gas pedal.

I did not try the car yet on road as I have some other parts to clean and replace. But this little idea may help you.

 

i havent inspected my throttle pulley bolt yet but i will tomorrow.
