ok i swapped my d15b7 out with a d16z6.

now it smokes out of valve cover, intake, and dip stick. white smoke alot at idle and start up. car runs and drives but ticks bad. all valves open and close when looking under cover and all valve clearence had been set to spec. motor timing is dead on. but i have to have distributor advanced all the way to keep car running and cylinder number one is missing with fuel and spark.

i think maybe a bad exhaust valve but that still dont explain the smoke. possibly a broken ring.

 

Likely a bad intake (and exhaust?) valve on cyl 4.

 

squirt some oil down cylinder 4 thru the spark plug hole and try again

if it goes up a significant amount, your rings are bad

 

well turns out on cylinder one and two the second set of piston rings were shatttered and the first set were locked into the piston.

yes it was the best chosen title for the problem at hand. that motors been pulled and waiting in the back shop to get rebuilt over the winter.
