Default Crank Pulley got Loose, Crankshaft Damaged

Well, I recently replaced the Timing Belt on my B16A in my 92 Civic. And about 4 days later I hear all sorts of weird noises coming from my Engine Bay. I noticed my Crank Pulley and Timing Belt were way loose. So I tighten the Crank Pulley down and then the Timing Belt, and start it back up. Well, needless to say, it got alot worse. I forgot that the Key would have fallen out of place when the Crank Pulley got loose. The Key twisted the Crank Pulley and Crankshaft. Pictures down below. Question is, if I put Loctite/Gorilla Glue on the Key and place it in the Keyway, and replace the Pulley, do you think I can get it driveable again?

i seen this happen on a civic and we could not get the timing right because of it. you did not gnaw off as much as it did but i dont think gorilla glue or jb weld is going to fix that because of the heat on the crank. you can try it and see how it does. id prefer someone weld and fill it in then try to re-cut the groove with a dremel. i really don't know if this could be salvaged or not. the civic i was working on we told the owner and he didn't care to fix it so we didn't.

The JB Weld I got can hold up to 600 Degrees. The Timing isn't off. Where the Timing Belt is attached is unaffected. I have like you said thought about welding it up, and drilling on the opposite side of the crank, but that would through the timing off.

Anyone else care to share?

its hard to set ignition timing when the cranks off a bit. not as much a big deal on a n/a setup though

It shouldn't be off by to much, seeing how the keyway is mostly intact. And after talking with some friends, going to take your advice and get it welded on. JB Weld will with stand the heat, but apparently gets weaker over time.

What type of weld did you use when you welded the keyway in the Crankshaft? Tac Weld?

Bronze the crank with a torch, if you weld it with mig or stick welder you can potentially have it arc through the bearings. Replace the front crankshaft seal that you will ruin from the heat.

Excuse me if I sound like a noob when I say this, but what does Bronze the crank mean? And 10-4 on buying a new Front Crankshaft Seal.

i am experiencing the exact same thing. i had a local repairman tell me i have to replace my entire engine because aparently a mishap involving replacing the timing belt caused the pulley to loosen and chew up the keyway. im taking it to a local dealership to see if they can give me a second opinion on it and assess whether or not the keyway is just chewed up or the actual crankshaft is. my harmonic balancer was knocking and all three accessory belts on my civic EX of same year just randomly happened one day last week so im just confused cuz ive never actually worked on cars other then a timing belt fix or an oil change. if the crankshaft does end up being chewed up, would jb weld hold it if i applied it to the crankshaft and not the keyway? sorry if i confuse anybody cuz im confused myself.
