Default y8 head on z6 block timing and headgasket

ok so i bought a y8 head with a skunk 2 stage 2 cam and it is ported and polished. my question is should i just set it to top dead center or is there something else i should do since it is different. also should i invest in a good cam gear. lasty what type of headgasket and head studs should i use.
Thanks

I would suggest using ARP head studs(1 for Y8, back left, and 9 Z6) with the stock Y8 (3layer metal) headgasket. I personally would use an adjustable cam gear, leave everything TDC, make sure to reset your valve lash with the new lobe heights on your new cam...using the adjustable cam gear will allow you to advance/retard your timing to get it just right.(.5 of a degree at a time) I will edit my post with a link for timing adjustment...
