Ac blowing Hot
My wife is driving a 01 ex, the ac is blowing hot. I have not had a chance to take a deep look at this. I am doing it this weekend when I have access to her car. If I can get some pointers on what to look for and also a how-to on how to recharge the system and a reliable kit to pick up to do it. Thanks in advance.
Have it checked for a leak... You might need to refill your a/c with refrigerant. You can go to a local auto parts store and pick up a recharge kit. It will have instructions with it. I personally like to have the kit with the longer hoses/valve/guage so I can set the refrigerant can on tope on the warm engine while its running and refilling. Setting the can on top of the motor and keeping it warm allows it to exhaust the the refrigerant at a steady rate. Otherwise you'll notice it working very slowly. Just make sure you keep an eye on the guage.
In my opinion, sealers dont fix the problem. They only serve to cover up the problem. It's almost like spraying air freshener. the stink is still there but only covered by an even stronger smell. Sooner or later the problem will return and perhaps even worse than before.check the system for leaks first. if there is a leak, you can recharge the a/c system for the time being, if you really want to, until you can get it fixed.
We'll then I'll just refill it and see what happens, seems like autozone has like a smart fill system that has a guage or some ****. I'll update ya after the weekend on how it comes out.
If you must charge the A/C yourself, just use a regular R134a refrigerant with UV leak detection dye mixed in. Use a refrigerant pressure gauge to make sure you don't over- or under-fill it.
Ok update, I did the refill, took about a can and a half. Gauge said it was at the proper psi. Right away it was nice and cold. Next day it was blowing not hot air but warm air. Is it possible that I need to put a lil bit more in? Or there is some sort of leak?

The system has a leak. If you used refrigerant with UV leak detection dye, use a black light to inspect all of the lines and fittings and determine the location of the leak. If you didn't use leak detection dye, you should have.
Sounds like you have to refill again, but with the UV leak detection type of refrigerant.
OR
You can refill it again, spray all the A/C hoses/components with soapy water, and wherever you see it bubbling, you know that is where your leak is. I did this once with one of my other cars that was having an A/C leak problem, and found the leak this way. I don't know for sure if this will work with our cars, but I don't think it would hurt to try.

Once I find the link how do I go about repairing it? I tried putting more in, the guy at autozone who helped me recharged it didn't put enough in I think but time will tell. I'll have to go out and buy a black light.
You'll have to go to the dealership and find the correct part. Depending on what it is, you might be able to fix it yourself, or you might have to take it somewhere and have it installed. Where are you from? I know a guy that does rgeat honda work for cheap, if you're in the socal area... Especially if its a simple fix.
