Default A ricey DIY experiment/idea.

First off, IT IS JUST A FUN/DIY IDEA, IT IS NOT INTENDED TO BE PERMANENT - JUST A FUN LITTLE EXPERIMENT.

I think I've figured out a way to hook up a BOV to an N/A car. Heres my idea - could you use an electric supercharger to build up some pressure in the intake pipe then when the throttle shuts, the BOV releases whatever pressure is in the tube? I'm sort of just throwing it out there. I'd give it a shot but at the moment I'm way too cheap to buy a junky electric turbo off egay.

I'm going to assume the BOV is adjustable - but I'm also guessing that if the electric turbo is uncontrollable and constantly running, the bov will just stay open unless it can be adjusted perfectly, or who knows maybe it'll just work.

You won't build up enough pressure at higher rpms for it to work.

It's nice to see new ideas, but in the case of this one: Don't bother.

There you go.

Plus, if you did get something electric that forced enough air, you'd be running into issues powering it. And of course the various other issues that people who run forced induction setups run into (IAT's, Tuning, etc.)

not only is it gay but its pointless as well. how about you spend your money on a real turbo build instead of wasting it on stupid **** like this.

You're better off setting up the blower to blow through a tube. At the end of that tube you'd install a butterfly valve (old throttle body possibly), and somewhere in the middle, the blow off valve. Connect your throttle cable to the butterfly valve.

When you're on the gas, the blower would blow right through the pipe (or partially pressurize it). But as soon as you get off the gas, the butterfly valve will close, pressurizing the tube, and the BOV would then release the pressure.

Basically what it comes down to is that you are only causing more headaches for yourself.

Get a turbo or don't. I hope you do and eventually enjoy the sounds of a necessary BOV.

Good luck with your car.

Here is my idea for you man. Just record the BOV sound on a CD and play it loud when you drive. LMFAO

We get it, he has posted some laughable ideas. How about instead of just degrading him you offer some advice next time to set him in the right direction? Besides this whole wanting a BOV without the need he has pretty good taste in what to do with his car.

It's not like he has been a douche about any of this so give him some help.

I didn't degrade. I gave him the simplest fix for his wooo wooo craving, it would be a whistle tip. It's in the last thread with a visual aid.

I beg to differ, anyone who installs non-functional parts does not have good taste. Boost Bar.

- There is also a forum specifically for Appearance / Cosmetic so please post... questions in that forum....
These are the rules that I see broken by the OP in this thread. Anyone who joins a forum and proceeds to break/ignore the rules for no apparent reason does so out of ignorance(lazy) or amusement(trolling). OPs screen name also has 'STi' as part of the name. AFAIK the only company that uses the STi nomenclature is the Scooby brand. Is that not odd to use such a name on a board that is very Honda.

As for the OP, here's a bone...

Why you want to argue I have no idea. If OP feels he/she has been 'degraded' they have a keyboard. If they can post once, they can post again.

I don't know why you care so much about something so nonsensical. Your posting ads nothing to the discussion. Please refrain from typing whimsically whilst pointlessly aiming your angst at another member.

I really didn't mean to attract this much attention - it was just a stupid idea. Of course my other thread (which you kindly posted) was a joke.

Btw, my car has ZERO external mods. Everything has gone towards the engine and keeping it running. I worked and worked and saved my money and bought it myself. I know we don't know each other but a little bit of respect or guidance would have been nice.

MAD MIKE... wow.

I hate to break it to you, all that loveliness you just posted only reinforces my main point. You just wasted perfectly good space on this thread to:

1) recite rules that loosely (depending upon interpretation) fit the situations
2) respond to what you have interpreted a "callout."

Well, I will do what you SHOULD have done and PM you my response to keep the thread as clutter free as possible. Wouldn't want to "post *****" now would I? Feel free to continue it there.

Back to the point, I was referring to previous threads where the OP had discussed his appearance plans and had shown some pictures. They looked good to me.

OP just save your money and get going on a real turbo project! I'm working on that as we speak.

We have all been young once, and thought certain things were cool and grew up to find out that they are not as cool. That Saber Dump Valve seems to be what you are looking for though.

I am also not a proponent of making the car "go faster". There is a proportional relationship between going fast and being reliable. Those who believe you only spend money to make the car go faster..... why did you buy a family sedan? I bought my Accord for its reliability and affordability. I am not going to fool myself and dump tons of money into making a family sedan go fast. Those of you who think "that is so cool", to spend $2k to make the car go as fast as a Prelude, while making it even less reliable than a Prelude, well, its still a family sedan at the end of the day. Customization is great, and I love all aspects of cars, but some people think you can only try to make a car go faster. Even my girlfriend's ford Taurus is faster than my car... but my car is UBER reliable!
