(sorry for **** cam pics)
First, the STI.
Guy changed turbos and manifolds. So he came to me for new IC pipe and downpipe.
Friends car who is always changing his setup. I will never own one after this
What a NIGHTMARE. Many trials and errors. Ended up having to flip the intake manifold foward and reworking all the IC piping due to the turbo hitting the intake manifold in its current position. It was a tight fit to clear the bottom of the hood for the IC piping as well.
Once the intake manifold was flipped, we realized the alternator was now in the way of the throttle body. So after some cutting and grinding, we flipped it onto the other side of its brackets and made up a new custom tensioner for the belt. Once that was complete, we realized now the belt was traveling straight horizontally across right in the way of where the IC pipe needs to go into the T/B. So.... after some brain storming I found a 1999 Civic Si A/C belt tensioner pulley and bracket. It happened to be all the right dimensions and characteristics of what we needed to make an idler pulley to push DOWN on the belt to get it out of our way so the IC pipe could be routed. After some grinding and elbow grease, the new idler was mounting onto the car on the old alternator bracket tensioning slider.
Car runs like a champ. Hovering 600AWHP right now, its a scary ride.
Old setup:

Now with the Nissan..
Buddy had this gtr shipped here and over almost 2 years he has done all the body work and restored the car. I want it badly.
Everything on the car is brand new. It was a please to work on this unlike the STi, what a nightmare.
I did the basic DP, exhaust, and intercooler piping on this car too.

And yes, all the UGLY BLUE silicone couplers are going to be replaced with black ones!

Nice work on both cars! What a pita on the subie. Skyline looks clean! The idler pulley on the subaru makes me wonder, since you're using the the ribbed side of the pulley on the back side of the belt. Never done that before, but seems like it might wear into the reciever grooves of the belt through the back side. Like I said I've never ran the pulley backwards like that, but maybe something to keep you eye on. Nice job on the brainstorming for that subaru though, looks like a lot of uphill battles on that thing.
with regards to the Subaru. Doing a manifold flip is actually very simple. see here (my personal car)

and this one I did and didnt move the alt or a/c

With me not seeing much of the custom setups on these cars, I just went then what I felt needed to happen and what the customer asked to do. The pulley was homemade and has slightly put some impressions on the belt, but I work at a machine shop and we will have the pulley machined flat/smooth once i build it up.
thanks for all the critism and comments.

Man that pulley is close to that IC pipe! Such a tight fit. Reminds me of my old 300zx tt, was next to impossible to work on. haha. Great job!
