Alright so my moms 95 ej1 with a d15b7 died last night. She said she was driving normally went to shift into second and the car just died. You can smell fuel out of the exhaust pipe so I doubt it's a fuel issue. I took the distributor cap off and found the inner cover broken. I'm thinking something in the distributor went. I haven't checked for spark yet. It doesn't sound like it's getting any spark. I check fi fuses and found nothing. I'm going back to the car today at about 8. I backprobed the black wire with the yellow tracer and it's getting source voltage 12.7 or something like that. How can I test the coil itself? I am getting the specs for the starting system today at school. Anyone have the same problem and already fix it? Thanks in advance

 

The cap looked good. The rotor had a little arcing evidence on it but looked good

 

And I have the same motor in my hatch so I have parts I can use for testing if need be

 

Timing belt has been checked and it's good
