Default build thread for SI!

ok so i have been doing some work on my EM1 and i think its time to put it up here.

first off i bought this car with an LS/VTEC in it. it had the stock b16a2 head and a b18a1 block.

i am now going to put the B16a2 block in it. i dont like LS/VTEC and it seems to just be a pain in the ***.

now i have removed that engine and the bay looks like this. also i got the new block and cleaned and painted it.

now for the past week ive been waiting on parts to come in such as, cluch alignment tool, new crank pully, crank pully holder... ect and in the mean time ive tried to get some wired tucked and clean things up a bit any comments or suggestions are greatly apreciated.

as you can see i have a skunk 2 throttle body and manifold and v2 intake. i have msd injectors. but i was running to rich still. will getting better spark plugs help it run more efficient? and can i run this on a stock em1 ECU?

Sucks u live so far away, I'd snag that LS block from u... lol.. GL with build man, just do it right don't cut corners and your car will thank you later...

just out of curiosity, is there a specific reason why you didnt like the ls/v build it had?

You will hate losing the torque of the larger block. Why didn't you source our a gsr short block?

I am ditching the B16 out of mine.....can't stand the lack of torque, in favor of a B18C and higher final drive tranny

the old ls block that was in mine was running sluggish, it burned oil... when it was put in it came off an old teg with prolly close to 200k miles. it wasnt machined or rebuilt or anything. so i figured it was losing alot of power any ways.
