b18a1 Crank in b16a1 block??
Hey guys I need a little info. I am doing a ls/vtec swap and I was forced to get an entire b16a1 engine. So I wanted to know if it would screw anything up if I put my b18a1 crank into the b16a1 block? That way I would not have to run the oil lines and I would have oil squirters. I heard that the deck heights are different between the blocks but I am not sure if that will screw up my combustion chamber. I was hoping for 11.5:1 by putting the b16a1 pistons in my ls block. Would that be changed by the difference in deck heights? Anyway I thought that putting the ls crank and rods in the vtec engine might work ...I would appreciate any information that anyone has...thanks

The LS crank physically fit in a B16 block (same main journal width) but the deck height of a B16 block is shorter than the B18A/B/C blocks. The LS crank has a much longer stroke. So, to answer your question, no you can not put a LS crank in a B16 block.
Just get a LS/GS-R/ITR block and work with that.

Well thats what I was thinking...thanks guys for your certainty. I will go ahead and use my ls block. It looks good, but it just would have been easier the other way...but then again usually nothing is easy. Anyway I appreciate your help!!!
