I have a b20/ type r setup w/ 12.5-1 compression. Rings are still good and compression is nice. The injectors are stock and so is the head. Running a P30 ecu. I have been starting to get pretty bad detonation and the top end will sometimes lag out on me. Do i need to upgrade my injectors or what? I am running a VAFC and fuel pump w/ reguator.

 

yes (injectors) you also need
fpr
fuel pump
and some dyno time and premium gas to keep detonation away!

What's your ignition timing set at?

 

12 degress advanced

 

So, that's 12 degrees BTDC, right?

Forgot to ask you....when do you experience the detonation? -at initial throttle tip-in? -Or, after you've gotten through a couple 1000 rpm's?

you need 310 or 440 injectors, Hondata (or AEM), and dyno time.
