Suspension Opinions
Hey guys,
I'm fairly new to the suspension portion of the game and would like some advice. I have been looking around and the obvious choice for most people is ground control/koni combo. I was wondering if someone could give me advice on what spring/shock combo to go with? I have a 98 EK Hatch and dont want anything too harsh because I have to drive 120 miles round trip to school. I was wonding what people thought about getting an eibach/tokiko blue combo if they have had it? I dont really want to go any lower than 1.5" and need a decent ride. I would like to keep the cost of the suspension under $700 if possible (that total does not include aligments, etc).
Thanks

I have Ground control coilovers on Tokico Blue shocks, the setup is most friendly for street use and daily commuting to school, work, etc. its never too harsh on you or your passenger, nice and very comfortable but not intended for lapping/racing purposes a lot lol.
as for the combo I would say eibach/tokico rules
becasue my Ground control coilover sleeves are paired with eibach springs.

Tokico blues are a oem replacement shock, noithing more.
look at progress or functionform, or just a spring and shock combo. Konis i think are 450 from thmotorsports? Someone correct me if im wrong, and just throw some eibach sport line shocks on them and go.
Or there is also the eibach pro and sport kit.

I have never much cared for stock replacements, my accord had blues, and the were blown to **** inless then 5 months.
I deffinetly do not reccomend lowering your car and useing tokico blues.
Oh ok. I didnt know that blues were only an OEM replacement because I saw a whole Tokico Kit (springs/shocks) that some places sell so thats good to know. A few of my buddies keep telling me to get coilovers. My cousin has the FF Type 1's and those are not horrible so that option is still on the table for me as well unless those are crappy coil overs? I'm glad there are so many people on this board because so many of you have experience and are more knowledgeable than I am in this area for now lol. I am aiming at getting some setup here in the fall. I forgot to mention earlier that I also wanted to get a rear sway/subframe brace and wanted opinions on the asr bar/brace kit from anyone that had that as well!

Theres were a disagree. they are stock replacements, meaning they are not meant to be lowerd and cant handle high spring rates. sure they can be lowerd a little a be ok, but surely will not last as long a say a tokico illumnia or koni yellow.

but I guess if they are paired with a different set of springs then they are compatible with then they probably blow up, I would only pair them with Eibach springs or Ground Control Coilovers!
I had ground control springs lol.
My friend has them in his car, blown as well, and my friends sister has them in her accord, also blown. Those shocks aren't designed to be lowerd. Now if you have low spring rates and you aren't really low that does help
