Default Broken axle help

hi i have a 95 civic with a d16 with 250whp and 240wtq
i have 2.9 dss axles and snaped my passanger side one last weekend. now dss went good for it thank you dss. but now i am worried about snapping another one. i thought with only 250whp and they are good for 475whp i thought i would never snap one. i have skunk2 pro c suspension lake wood tracktion bars bfg drag raidals lsd. shouldnt the tires break free before snaping a axle.
so i know you are supose to pre load the car but how should i do my burn outs they do not allow drag radials in the water box. any tip or trick so i dont break another axle would be great.

Real simple answer to that pre load your clutch when launching the car I've seen 500whp on stock axles doing just fine. Just search pre load to figure out how to do it.

right i try my best to do that but i am worried that my burn outs are stressing the axles when i do my dry burn out i cant really get them to spin i just drag my rear tires.
also i would think the drives side axle would snap first seeing how its a lot longer then the passenger side.

Before I learned how to preload the clutch I snapped a couple axles and they were all passanger side and all aftermarket axles. As far as the burnout goes I've never heard a track telling drag radial they cant use the water box. I hear street tires aren't allowed to I haven't really dealt with that issue I've been on slick the last 4 years.

Wow, no DR's in the water box? I would check and see if they are letting the RWD cars on DR's hit the water box. Not saying they are biased, but it has happened at a local track here in Iowa also. Had to tell the water guy to spray the box. Really irritating. This was when I was helping a buddy with his hatch running low 7.0x in the 1/8th (on slicks). Makes for some serious stress on the cars that are just on the edge of really being able to power through a burnout.

You should not have a problem with it. They have less grooves and sipes than the older design BFG DR's. And those do fine on the strip.
