Daily Driver: Stock Cam or Other Cam
Okay so I want more power obviously. I'm tired of the D16Y7 and am planning a Mini-me Y8 head swap (intake too obviously). I don't want to throw too much money at this car since I'm saving for more important things. Question I have is about the stock D16Y8 cam. Is it acceptable for a daily or are any aftermarket cams really worth it? I understand the benefits of having an aftermarket Engine Management System and that tuning is always a good idea... but for something to just drive around the city in and have some fun is it cost effective?
I'm really looking to keep total parts under $1000 and I'm sure I can do the Mini-me alone for ~$500 if not less.
Should I bother with a cam since I'm not taking this car to the track?

Well I guess the question was mostly opinion so how about this... If I get a cam to produce more power do I definitely need a Fuel Manager other than the stock ECU?
You really should tune, or else it is just a waste. Not saying you need to go out and buy a Motec or anything...just a simple Crome or NepTune chip by someone reputable so that you can get the most out of your setup. No, you dont really need a cam for daily driving...but why not? It will make getting the groceries more fun.
