As you can see in my sig, I have a turbo D15B, I recently had my ecu go bad so i ordered a pre-chipped one this time and I am having a problem with my boost. Whenever I hit the gas too hard the entire motor bogs down and basically shuts off (like check engine light flashes and radio, lights, everything shuts off) just like when you let the clutch out too fast on a stick car, but its NOT STICK ITS AUTO!!! I have a had a few buddys look at it with me and we cant seem to figure out what it is. I happen to think it is something in the tune (I use crome) but I havent been able to narrow it down at all. It does this at any and all rpms as soon as i try to accellerate too quickly and build boost fast to take off. Otherwise its fine, I can lay into it slowly and it will increase speed gradually until it hits full boost but whats the fun in that? If anyone has any info about this sort of thing please let me know because its making me drive the car like a grandma! I am only running 8 psi. (And I checked in crome, I have the boost limit set to 11.2 psi) so it SHOULDNT be cutting off the motor due to boost. Let me know- Thanks.

 

Might be a lean tip-in, or you're just generally running too lean at WOT.
But if you're using a basemap your ECU came with, it's also likely your timing is extremely retarded. Most tuners do that to cover their asses.

 

why in the world are you running a "prechipped" ecu that isn't tuned on your turbo car???? GET IT TUNED. wow.
