Default d15b7 white smoke after replacing head gasket

ok i bought a 4 door eg coupe with a d15b7 with a supposedly "bad" head gasket. it smoked white when i bought it, more so when it warmed up, and bogged when i gave it gas.

i replaced the head gasket today only to find a brand new head gasket installed. so i replaced it anyway thinking maybe it wasnt installed correctly.

put everything back together and it does exactly the same thing it did before, no more no less of the white smoke and in low rpms its also very boggy. after 3k tho it picks up but shoots big clouds of white smoke.

what could the problem be? Thick white smoke can't be a timing issue i don't think. i have no external coolant leaks on the motor. Somebody was saying a cracked head, is this likely to cause such smoke?

any help would be great.

EDIT: if it helps, my oil isnt mixing with the coolant anywhere

You need to do a pressure test on the cooling system to see where it is leaking.

Did you get the head and block decked or check with a straight edge and feelers, or just eyeball it? I think .002-.003 is the max warpage the gasket can seel.

Your head may have need to be machined and without so putting a warped head on a straight block just wont match...

I had a similar issue with the white smoke and loss of power. When I pulled my wires two of them where soaked in oil. I got a valve cover gasket kit and new plugs and wires and after replacing them it hasn't smoked at all.

my HG blew a couple years ago... I NEVER thought my head was warped, it looked to straight.. well, it was WAS. My block was fine, my head just needed to get milled .10 or .15 and it was all good... just go to a machine shop and ask them to check it, if its warped.. resurfacing is wicked cheap.

im buying a new b7 head for $25 locally.

and it has a new valve cover gasket. might try replacing the plugs tho, that still doesnt explain the white smoke.
