Are they not fitting on both the top and the bottom? Did you test fit these when you had them apart?

i got the new upper control arms with ball joints from napa the ultra 8 and am displeased measured the taper surface that sits in the hub and the stock one is .510 thousandths right were the taper starts and the napa ones from the same point are .491 thousandths.
taken them back soon and gettin me the moogs
the bottom ones are trw ball joints and they are the same diameter as the previous ones.
on the napa uca/ balljoints the castle nut was higher on threads from the cotter thus making the cotter pin useless. this is what im thinking right now is since these napa ones are out of spec on there taper that they were siting to far into the hub could be why right ??
and the upper and lower ball joints slide nicely into there tapered surfaces btw
is there alot of poor quality out there for out hondas ?

I bought upper ball joints from auto zone and the threads were too long as well. The little metal cover plate would not fit.

They are sometimes like this just from manufacturing differences. While not technically correct what you can do is torque the castle nut then find a pin with a larger head to put in then bend back up into one of the castle nut slots.

I have the DA knuckles and Skunk 2 UCAs. I ended up using a couple washers to locate the spaces on the castle nut around the hole in the ball joint. Worked great and hasn't failed me yet (CRX = my race car).
