Where to buy tool to take oil filter off with socket wrench?
So i wanted to buy a Oil filter tool that connects to a socket wrench that flips over the end of the oil filter, I picked one up the other day thought it fit but when i got home to didnt slide on enough to grip the filter. As the normal tool we use is a pain in the ***, as there insnt much room.
Napa didnt have any to fit a b16a's oil filter.
Advanced auto had some but i got the wrong one so i wont know till monday if the have the right one or not.
Any place's you guys could think of that would carry this?
Also why is it that frams oil filter is smaller then nappa's oil filter?
I ussaly use a fram filter but i went to napa to grab one and it was like twice as large, which the way i see it would be hold more oil and clean the oil better.

I dont know where to get that wrench, but I think if you need one to remove the filter you may be tightening it too much. Just changed my oil today, removed it by hand as usual. You should only be tightening it 3/4 turn after it makes contact.
Napa's filter must be based on the old style filter. I think Honda switched to the newer smaller filters about 5 years ago. If you're concerned about oil filtration, run a blackstone oil analysis....just about everything else you read on the internet about oil filters is heresay by people who dont know better. I run the small OEM filter and at 3000 miles blackstone says everything looks great and I probably could get another 2000 out of the oil.

Try sears, craftsman has a few different styles that work well. I have the 3 prong self adjusting claw that attaches to a 3/8 ratchet, and a couple different sizes of filter pliers.
Oil filter pliers were all I ever needed when I was a tech. No filter ever gave me a problem, no car ever gave me too little clearance, and under 5 bucks at most stores.
At work, we have the Honda-specific filter cups (small for everything the large for the S2000).
I have the filter pliers and they work great with the exception of the '06+ Civic Si's.
I also have a Snap On filter cup set that I use from time to time when I'm not at work. FWK7A - includes the universal wrench and a series of cups that should fit most flute sizes/number.
