Default Changing the Oil Filter

Hey I was wondering if anyone has a tough time changing the oil filter on your Tegs? Is it just me or is it really hard to get a good grip on that thing when youre laying underneath your car? Is there an easy way to take it out?

Buy a Honda Oil Filter Cap. The cap fits over the oil filter. It has a nut on top of it (i believe 12mm) that you can use a 12mm box wrench on it to loosen the filter.

I assume installing a lift at your house isn't an option?

it makes it easier, but it doesn't make it easy.

I don't even mess with it, I get a free wash, wax, and vacuum when I take it to the dealer to let them change the oil

Thanks for all your input guys! I'm going to look into those oil filter wrenches then. I've also seen those sure-grip filters from Fram. They look pretty interesting as well. Now all I need is to get that damn OEM filter outta there!

hahaha if worse comes to worser, a last option can be to jab a screwdriver into the filter and turn..... it's pretty blunt but it works

3. Always install the filter by hand first... Then tighten to 16 Ib-ft...
How would you measure exactly 16 lbs/ft of torque when tightening down an oil filter? Do you use that oil filter cap from honda that was mentioned above earlier? and even then i don't think i could fit a torque wrench up there

wow i never have a problem taking off my filter, replacing it always seems to be a hassle, i dunno why. the filter just doesn't want to catch with me i guess, plus i barely have any room under my car when i jack it up...
