Default Only 240 WHP at 10 Pounds of Boost?

Well, I'm getting ready to do my Turbo Install, and called the place where I want to get my Tune done. I told him I was running a B16A with S300. He asked if I was running stock head gasket, and I said I was. They said they would only run me up to 10 PSI because they don't want to risk detonation. So I asked how much WHP would I get with the stock B16A with a T3 T67 Turbo on it, and he said 220-240 WHP? Surely the T67 can get more HP out of 10 Pounds, right?

well really it shouldnt be "they will run you up to 10 pounds" if you have done everything correctly on a stock set up IE: headstuds, new head gasket, new timing belt/water pump you can run around 300whp. Now this isnt always true because my friends b16a2 coupe which was tuned at 317whp@13psi on a .60 trim ended up losing compression since he didnt run a catch can to stop blow by. If you want to go over 10psi you are going to need a new map sensor also. What im saying is you should do some more research before heading down there, maybe get a tuner whos more into honda engines with forced induction to know whats safe and whats not

I got a Hondata 3-Bar Map Sensor. The gasket is being replaced days before tuning along with the timing belt and water pump. I didn't get Headstuds though.

And sadly, the place I was looking at getting the Tune is considered one of the best on the East Coast, so, its not like I can find a better Honda Tuner.

You're in VA. You can get Inline Pro or Evans tuning to do that. You're not looking well enough

Inline Pro was the place who told me no more than 10 PSI :-P

Where is Evans at? Was orginally going to go t Hybrid Garage they closed down. Will try to find some info on Evans.

did you speak with the actual tuner at inlinepro or just someone who answered the phone? they probably get 100 calls a day from people that are getting way ahead of themselves with pipe dreams of getting their turbo car tuned but the car isnt even ready yet.

inlinepro does good work and im sure an experienced staff member would know that b16 @ 10psi on a t3 t67 is gonna make way more than 220-240whp.

regardless, get your set-up installed and get on the dyno. then if you are only making 220whp come back and we can try to diagnose a problem. until then we cant help troubleshoot the low power output on your hypothetical turbo setup.
