Default High beam help

ok so, when i go to turn my high beams on, only my passanger side will work, and the high beam indicator in the car wont illuminate, so i tested to see if there was any power going to the plug and there isnt at all.... my regular lights work but not the high on the driverside... i dont really kno where to start, ive checked the fuses and they are fine.... any suggestions?

Both sides are wired together in parallel so that there is power to both or neither. I would suggest tracing the harness from the passenger side (that is working) across to the driver's side to find a break in the wire. you can use a test light with a sharp probe and probe the power wire from the passenger's side about every 12 inches or so-towards the driver's side. If you find that there is no power at one point, the break lies between that point and the previous test point. Just a suggestion. I have done this succesfully once before, but I think it was on a Ford. collision damage pinched the wire and broke it, but the conduit was still intact, pretty weird.

alright so i tried tracing the wire...and i went all the way back to the firewall and nothing.... so i took apart the steering colum and played with the wires to the switch and it finally came on.... thanks for the advise!

Hey!

I see you live in Canada, if your car is a canadian model, you are equipped with Daytime Running Lights. Sometimes, the module causes little problems, like no DRL's, one or both highbeams not working. Somtimes it's "permanent", sometimes it just happens out of the blue. It crapped on me twice in 5 years on my 01 EX, it's a simple fix.

If you still have this problem around, take out the DRL module located on the right side of the steering column under the dash, open it, and check for tiny cracks in the solders of the board. Just solder them back, voila! You should be set for a few years.
