It's a real mix of NOS and original pieces. Most of the lights are NOS. Everything else has been refinished. Stll searching for parts that need updating like the hatch lock. It's been a fun project and the search is on for more parts.

I have been following your car on the most nostalgic car forum for a while. The car has gone through a lot of work. I used your wooden steering wheel restoration guide, it turned out great.
Glad to be of help. My car wouldn't have gotten this far without a lot of help from various forum members. Finally put my genuine Honda Civic floor mats in. Getting ready for the Carlisle Import Show this weekend.
Bob, your car looks great, man. Mine wants to be yours when it grows up, dude. Very nice. Your carpeting? Did you get it from one of those Ebay shops? That's one of my next moves and I was wondering if that's where yours is from and how easy it was to install.
I got the carpet from seller Aardvark on Ebay. Just need to take your time trimming it out.
Very Nice!!!
I like how you kept it OG, I feel that is the way it should be.
Good job on the interior too. Good carpet info also!
PS: get rid of that blue wire...it is bothering me

LOL, those blue wires are waiting for me to pull out the dash a little bit to make room for installing a period original Panasonic am/fm where the am now sits. The other end of the blue wires will be hooked up to refinished overhead speakers.
Blown a headgasket. Decisions to make - rebuild my motor and keep the car all original - swap in an Oscar Jackson 1979 1.8L with dual Weber side drafts (pic below)- swap in a D-series motor. Not sure which way to go yet.
My vote is keep it OG!!!!
Pleezzzzzeeeeee.
Are you thinking about just the top end or a complete rebuild? Shoot just throw a new gasket on her and see.
The 1.8 does look nice though.

Got to do a leak down test and figure out what else may be going on. I did have some smoke on start up and acceleration, although it did have good bottom end power prior to the headgasket leak. Rings may be a culprit. If so, then it looks like a pretty complete overhaul is in store. I'd love to get by with just a top end - we'll see.
