Re: My 78 Civic CVCC
Still waiting on my engine builder. In the meantime, I've been cleaning and refinishing various parts. Doesn't look like my car will be making the Carlisle Import Show this year.

Great thread! I can't wait to see it finished. My parents had a blue one just like this when I was little. I don't remember what year it was, because I was only 5 or 6 when they traded it in, but I do remember sticking to those seats in the summer time. I love that you found an original radio and speakers!

Re: My 78 Civic CVCC
It's only original once. I figure this rebuild should last a very long time. According to Justin March who has done many SB1 swaps, a D series motor will give you the most bang for the buck. It's a very small, light weight car and the D motor will fly.

Re: My 78 Civic CVCC
considering how the CVCC head is designed, i doubt normal dual carbs will work worth a flip on it. you might be able to make dual CVCC carbs work, but i'm not sure you'll have enough room for them.
oh, and thread jack should be split out to another thread.

Any update or pics? car is going to be perfect once it is put back together. Does your Engine builder specialize in older imports? It seems like it has been apart for 5 or 6 months.

Just good old Murphy's Law in place. The rebuilder has too many ***** in the air at the same time, daily drivers get priority over weekend warriors. The important thing is that it'll have been done right, with all genuine oem parts and put together with over 30 years of Honda experience.

Really just depends on your level of dedication to the car. Parts can be a challenge to obtain depending on geography. It's a very doable project if you have the patience and access to the parts. Good luck
