power windows down but not up?
Bought a door from someone. Wired up the switches and for some reason my window will roll down but not up... If a motor works one way shouldn't it work the other? Anyone have the wiring diagram or knows how to get my window to roll back up? Its about to rain soon here in norcal =\
thanks in advance.

get a use switch for someone first make sure it works on the other car then try it on yours usually its the switch because your window will go in one direction.
I have the opposite problem, I have a window that will roll up but not down. Here's what I've done:
Bought a replacement door, so I hooked up the motor/regulator from that door to my door's power cable and tried it and received the same results. I tried using the window switch from the new door and also received the same results. Just for kicks, I tried the window switch with my other door and had the same results. Then I swapped the doors completely and tried both regulators in the new door with the same results.
You will hear it click when you try to roll it up but it doesn't do anything since the window is already all the way up. When you try to roll it down, it doesn't do anything, no click, nothing. The common denominator is the car itself, so I'm guessing there is a wire damaged possibley coming from the car to the door?

which side? pass. or driver?
if it's the passenger, try rolling it up with the dr. side switches.
you can try banging on the door near the regulator. sometimes the brushes get dirty. worked for me more than once
or try running straight power to the regulator from your battery. it's probably the switch

Passenger side door, I took the regulator out, unhooked the motor and manually "rolled down" the arm. I hooked it back up to power, rolled up but not down. So I don't think it's stuck. I tried a 2nd switch but it's possible I suppose that it has the same problem. I don't want to buy a switch unless I know for sure that's the problem.
When you say run power straight to the regulator, how would you do that? I mean, which wires (if you know) would need to go to what (ground, positive)?
I appreciate the responses all!

Most likely the problem is the switch.
Honda/Acura use a polarity reversing ground at rest power window system, same as the door locks.
When not rolling the windows, [at rest] both the leads going to the window motor are grounds, when the switch is pressed for up or down the ground is "lifted" off one of the leads and 12V+ is supplied, window rolls in one direction, when switch is rocked in the other direction the ground is "lifted" from the other lead and 12V+ is supplied to it, polarity reversing.
A simple test is to connect a 12V test light to the motor leads red/blue and red/yellow drivers side and blue/yellow and blue/green pass. side, [from drivers switch] it is blue/white and blue/red for pass. side at pass. switch, it does not matter which way test light is connected, test light should light up when switch is rocked in either direction.
You can also unplug the switch and supply 12V+ and a ground directly to the motors leads to roll the windows up or down.
If the windows move in one direction the problem is not the motors it is the wiring or lack of a ground or power because of the switch. 94

common with a weak regulator. long story short the electric motor is on its way out and going down is much easier than up. the other thing it could be if dirty window track causing a lot of resistance. you can try weatherstrip grease on your tracks, sometimes helps. also do not buy any aftermarket regulators, every single one of them i have tested does not have oem level power. they either work half *** or burn out quick. a working oem unit is what you're after. switches are easy to test for as it sounds like you have already done.
#5. Your problem is not your passenger side switch it is the drivers side. I picked mine up at a junk yard for $50.00. I had the same issue with pas side going up but not down. The two switches are hooked in Par/ or series. Honda is asking about $90 for a new unit. Good luck. Hope this helps

I just replaced the drivers side window and now the passenger side window won't go back up. Fortunately I didn't roll it all the way down. It won't go back up using either control.
