Default b18b1 revs slowly

yepp i can be in neutral and hold it to the floor and it will rev reallllly slow, when it used to jump up to redline real quick. while in gear it doesnt have near the ***** it used to.

this just started happening and ive been trying to figure out what it is for the past 3 days..

just put new plugs and wires in and made sure ignition timing was right.

i need help!

please someone! any ideas????

you seem to be getting used to the motor...also its a pretty slouchy motor. the only thing i can think of would be a lightweight flywheel if you arent throwing any cel's.

i think it could be a fuel problem, wiring issue with the fuel to air mixture, i bet theirs could be a sensor slowly going out, id tried reseting the ecu

Disconnect your positive battery cable, and step on your brakes for 20 seconds. *this will drain your ECU of residual power* Reset your ecu, Take off your Fuel Filter, and blow through the top hole, if there is any resistance, replace it. Make sure your timing is right.

I know you said you reset your ECU but if its not drained, it will save the old information..another way is to remove the fuse under the hood, it will reset your clock and stereo though.

Check the resistance on your throttle body and the cable....could be too loose, or too tight. and check the intake manifold as well, just make sure its opening right, take off the intake and rev car from under hood and look in...

Does it run different cold? like start it up and drive, i swear mine does the same thing but runs soooo different when its started and driven as opposed to when its warm.

For future reference, bad timing will do this too.

theres not too much play on the cable, feels normal to me..

but i got it running alot better now.

only thing is that it wil only run smooth and pulll hard if the timing is all the way advanced.. does this mean im off a tooth or two on the cam timing??
