Default Wanting to learn about Civics

I am wanting to buy my first Civic and need to learn more about the different models and engines and yes I have used the search feature. Dam near wore the s off the search button. I am mainly looking for a 96-00 civic sedan but will consider others. Im would like to know the difference between all the models exp. EX LX DX and the engine in each model. I thought I could find a writeup containing all this info but for the life of me I couldnt.

Why is it that you want a Sedan? I mean unless you have to get a kid in and out of a car seat I would go with a coupe or a hatch. But I have 98 hatch and a little car seat rider and it isn't really a problem.
As far as trim models for 96-00 the EX is the best model it only comes in a coupe, sunroof, all power options, and it has a D16y8 which is the best single over head cam motor in USDM civics. has a better tranny and VTEC 127HP the hatch backs come in a DX and CX and the sedan is an LX.
I have a 98 civic hatchback DX and I love it. even stock its fun to drive and has a great look.

Hope this helps.... if have any other specific questions let me know I would be happy to answer them.

WRONG!!!!!

That's twice in the last 10 minutes I have seen you putting out bad/wrong information. Stop and read up before you stick your foot in your mouth again.

OP,
96-00 Civics come in varying trim levels and door configurations.
Read this link in the FAQ's section above.

Thanks EF8! Thats exactly what I was looking for. No wonder I couldnt find it I had no idea 96-00 civics are called 6G's.

Hey Hond, I want a sedan cause I will be hauling somethings around and personally Im not a fan of the hatches and yes you can get a sedan EX.

What is everyones opinion about the 6G's vtec? Is it worth spending the extra cash for it? Doesnt seem like much more H/P. How bout the gas mileage of the EX compared to the other models.

I loved my 98 EX sedan, should never had gotten rid of it. But that's all in the past. I currently have a 1999 LX sedan, which has the D16Y7 for now. I love the car, got 46mpg at the last fill up, hand calculated. But it will be getting a D16Y8 head swap(mini-me) in 2 weeks.
