filing b16a tranny fluid threw vss?
I saw a tech write up on filling the tranny by sliding or removing the vss, But i cant find the write up now under search, if anyone could link that'd be great.
But ill ask anyways can i fill my b16a tranny by removing the vss or is the only way to do it to remove the 17mm bolt above the axel and get a hose and funnel and do it that way?
Also what does the Vss look like if it is possible that way?

can you snap me a picture of it, i may know what it is, i took this thing off that had 2 10mm bolts holding it in pulled it off and there was this little metal peice that goes into the tranny and into the sensor couldnt get it back in at first but i did, i just didnt see a way to fill it threw what ever that thing was as there wasnt really a hole
Should be a single bolt holding the whole assembly onto the tranny, and its got a tall gear on it that reaches into the tranny. If you remove it like that you can fill it that way.
Why wouldnt you just use the fill bolt though?

if you removed the 2 bolts holding the upper part of the VSS, then dont do that remove the bolt that holds the entire thing to the tranny after you unplugg it, should look much more straight forward once you do that.

I never use the "fill" hole on the trans unless Ive got the car up on the lift. With that said, keep in mind if you decide to use the fill hole and you're working in the driveway, ensure the car is level or else its likely you'll underfill the trans. I like to use the VSS hole for a few reasons: Ease of access and level of vehicle doesnt matter. Look up the drain/fill specs in the manual and add that amount. Its easy, and if memory serves me its something like 2.3qts for B series and 1.9qts for D's?
i got to look for that part ive never seen it on my tranny, weird. Once u take it out is there some speical way it has to go back in with that hyelical grear on the end?
