i searched for ECU codes but didn't find anything
would the codes come up if i scan it with the scanner that tells you all the codes? or do i have to do it manually?

it is possible to jump the service connector and get the cel to blink the standard obd1 type codes out to you, however, i would recommend just using a scanner and finding out exactly what the problem is.
sounds like the transmission took a shyt and the clutches inside are fried. has the transmission been slipping at all previously? if u let it cool down it will probbably go into gear for alil bit but can also slip and downshift on you. sound slike you need a new transmission. i had this happen to me...
