OMG D4 flashing on 99 civic dx need help

Icon2 OMG D4 flashing on 99 civic dx need help

i have a 99 civic dx automatic. just the other day i was driving heading towards In N Out . on the way there i hit a red light, when it went to green i tryed accelerating but i was going no where. i tryed 2nd gear and i drove it home. before i changed to 2nd i noticed the D4 light was flashing and its been like that ever since.

what can i do?? please help. i want to know what you guys think before i take it to a transmission specialist. i'm scared i will get taken advantage of

check the D4 code man...

Jump the ECU to check for tranny code. It's in the FAQ section, how to check ECU codes.

hey thanks for replying
i searched for ECU codes but didn't find anything
would the codes come up if i scan it with the scanner that tells you all the codes? or do i have to do it manually?

it is possible to jump the service connector and get the cel to blink the standard obd1 type codes out to you, however, i would recommend just using a scanner and finding out exactly what the problem is.

sounds like the transmission took a shyt and the clutches inside are fried. has the transmission been slipping at all previously? if u let it cool down it will probbably go into gear for alil bit but can also slip and downshift on you. sound slike you need a new transmission. i had this happen to me...

hmmm.... when i scanned to codes i didnt see any codes that are from the tranny (i think) i just found out AAMCO does free transmission diagnosis i'm going to take it there see what they tell me.

i have a feeling my tranny is all messed up too but i'm hoping its something else *fingers crossed*
