yeah moar details.

Year, trim level, and transmission would be a good start. Engine would be a plus if it's not the right one for the car. It would be nice to know what kind of idle problem it is. Hunting? Surging? Up and down?

99% of the time though, idle problems are caused by the following:
1. Vacuum leak somewhere
2. Air pockets in the coolant
3. bad/dirty IACV or FITV
4. bad/dirty throttle body

You mean it's constantly going up and down, on its own, at a regular interval? 99% sure it's a vacuum leak. There's a hose with a hole in it, or not connected.

Now, if it's sort of randomly idling a little high, then a little low, then a little high, and can't seem to find a place to settle at, that's a different problem.

You should still try bleeding the coolant. Start cold, take the radiator cap off, and make sure radiator and reservoir are full. Then, turn the heater on full blast and run the car at idle with the radiator cap off for about 20 minutes. That should get out any air in the system that might be causing your idle problem.

If neither of those solutions work, then it's time to start looking at idle air control valve or throttle body problems.

vacuum leak then. You either have a hose disconnected, or a hole in a hose.
