f22b2 engine hp max stock
hi everyone im wondering how much hp a f22b2 can handle before running into problems or blowing up ... the motor i have is boosted running 7lbs of boost and its got 198 hp at the moment and i wanna turn the boost to 10 and add a couple bolt ons but if internals must come first then thats what ill do any help thankssss...
how many miles on it? i would hold off on the 10 pounds till you get forged connecting rods. and better pistons will be a plus too. might wanna have the block done up in a machine shop. have it hot tanked to clean out oil passages of engine sludge. turbos require good oil and engine sludge dont help. be smart with it and you'll enjoy your ride alot more. also the head gasket might be needing an upgrade with 10 pounds of boost. go cometic MLS with a .040 thickness and use arp head bolts. research your build more like youre doing now before you drop any cash
the thing is miles are unknown whick sucks i want to rebuild it but dno ware to find a legit kit or if i could just buy everything seperate and if i did what would be rocomended to replace??
a kit no its a bit custom. depends on the damage in the motor now. pricing though is about the same still. around 1400 for a true rebuild but if you have turbo plans you might wanna go full on custom but thats like 3 grand minimum. (i've done it a few times for some guys). but thats je pistons, darton sleeves, felpro gaskets, cometic MLS head gasket, arp head bolts, forged rods, and honda timing belt. and a basic valve job. nothing fancy in the head. but its a strong setup. you can spend more for the better valve springs and such but the OEM cam and crank do quite well in these setups. you can easily push into the 300 HP range with it
