25 + 200shot

um do a search you can find so much info. It all depends on your motor and what you want out of it.
But im assuming you have alot of miles on a b17 so I would say 6-8psi with a stock bottom end.

Ok what if I would put a block guard in, and a thicker head gasket?????

Since every pound of boost = a 7% H.P. increase... I would like to run 15 psi and double what I have now

If you do 15 you will most likely blow your engine up.

To get that high your going to need shotpined or forged rods, at least some arp rod bolts and head studs, forged pistons, block guard or sleeve (when you get 15+ psi the cyl walls tend to flex a bit therefore you might crack em), and all other things with a rebuild seals and bearings and ****.
Along with all supporting mods; fuel (inj, fpr, pump (maybe), air, exhaust, clutch, ecu tuned, etc)

Your looking at spending alot of money to get to 15psi

The stock rods and rod bolts and sleeves should be able to handle 6-8,9 with no/minimal problems

Have you done a compression check on your motor first?

Gl doing that to a b17.

i like to stop at 10psi for most stock hondas to be on the safe side. and please dont make a post on topics that show up atleast 10 times a day. its been discussed plenty and can be found if you just search.

good to see some locals tho...

Are you thinking about just puttin a turbo kit onto your b17a? Not even touching the internals? If so 10 psi Is safe for you. And are you buying a turbo kit? How many miles does your engine have? WE NEED DETAILS

edit: Buying as in buying a complete turbo kit, or custom making one

What sized turbo and what engine management?

Different sized turbos make different amounts of power at a given psi. Power kills engines, not psi.

The engine management is key to reliability. Half *** this and any psi will blow your motor up.

Well millage is unknown but the motor is CLEAN!!!!!!!!! NO carbon build up at all!!!!!
There is not even any gunk on the oil sump...... I have a turbonetics turbo kit T3T4

I am planing on putting in a block guard, head gasket spacer, and if I get this new job a good set of cams and a intake manifold.......

If I get mid 13's I will build the motor...... I once ran 15psi on a single cam with no problems, it had spacer, block guard, and obx intake.....

Have you performed a compression and leakdown test yet? That is a better estimate of the engine's health than how clean it looks inside.

T3/T4? What size? I am going to assume a 57 trim. What engine management?

before you go turbo, make sure your motor is good.Run a comp test and compression test. Like others have stated, 10 PSI is safe to be on a stock block. But id still go lower like at 7 psi to really make sure

No I have not tested it yet..... I have a compression tester but I am not shure how to use it and no leak down check yet........

I am not shure about the turbo size but the inlet is 2 1/4 inch

I am thinking the motor probably has around 80 to 90 thousand on it

It has been ran on 10/30 castrol syntec blend since I had it.......
But it was real clean to begin with....

Just realy want to be fast with no problems

If it helps the original trany is still on the motor Ys1, and there are no problems with it........

Dont go by psi, its how much power your putting down. That turbonetics turbo is most likely a t3/t4 and should be able to give you more that enough HP your stock blocks recomended whp, which is 280-300whp. No block guard will be needed(search blockguard and decide wether they help or are a waste of money). I personaly dont think they do much but constrict the sleeves from expanding while in high temperatures, but thats just my opinion and i know people will disagree. If you have the money for cams then great, look into buying some ctr or 2000-2001 itr cams. Also dont forget a clutch and a good tune.

But before you turbo it, you should do compression check.
