When I go start my car i get a slight rod knock for like a split second. It only does it when the car has sat overnight. I just put new rod bearings in in 510miles ago along with piston rings. Could it be the ND 30w getting old? I don't hear a rod when actually driving, then again I haven't really rev it high just waiting to change out the oil. Any Ideas?
ive heard funny knock at crank up too not on my teg imparticular but on friends b series and other non-honda rides. could be throwout bearing. we have gone as far as having one of us under hood at early morning or "first start of day" to diagnose this 2 or 3 hit knock and sounded like transmission area emmitts this familiar rattle mocking a bad rod bearing. swapped in a act clutch and throwout bearing and the noise went away. never heard this from a automatic unless it was missing torque converter, flex plate, or flywheel bolts then it doesnt stop knocking.... ill save that story for another day
