hi guys...i have a jdm b16a...my vtec isn't working on my p30 ecu so i bought a p28 ecu and chipped it out to the b16 map and vtech pops and only when it pops i come down to and idle and it idles rough then goes back to normal...if anyone know what it is can you help me out...any ideas what it could be???

 

you didn't find out why VTEC wasn't working on the p30 before putting the chipped p28 in?? I know you more than likely didn't have the knock sensor wired in, but I may be mistaken.. if you had any CEL's what were they?

maybe your knock sensor was missing, all b series ecu search for this
usually chipped p28 have bad idling and air/fuel ratio unless you get it tunned

 

quickly, edit your post and replace "vtech" with "vtec, VTEC, or maybe V-TEC"
just warning you because people WILL GET MAD that you are spelling it incorrectly haha.

 

lol for real this is the first time i hear vtech and i just cant stop laughing... im somewhat a newbie when it comes to honda but at least i know how to spell the car parts and things like that.. oh and vtech also makes good portable house phones!!!

 

that you took the ECU the engine uses and swapped it out instead of finding the actual problem. put the p30 back in and go from there.

 

knock sensor thats what i think

 

my bad...my girl typed it...the knock sensor is wired in when i have the p30 hooked up and it still don't hit...i don't think the knock sensors go usually...one of my spark plug wires has a rip in it...do you think that could be it...should i try a new fuel filter?

 

vtech also make baby toys dont ask how i know that. sorry couldnt help out with your problem i just had to put in my 2 cents.

 

my b16a worked properly without a knock sensor wired in after a swap i did.now an then the revs will go up an the cel comes on after its stood for a while,and vtec worked so i dont think thats your problem.

and as for anything else dont really understand the way you have worded the question
