Default cluster has no power going to it

Ok I have a 96 civic dx with b16 swap. Heres what happend so everything was working until I wired in a system, it arced! My power and ground touched to my cd player, no biggie i jus hard wired the cd player for the moment both powers together. cd player works. Well my car has 99 doors on it with power windows converted, and now my power windows dont work.... Now could the previous owner have used the power supply from the cd player? Well i decided to tear my dash apart and find a alarm system was once wired up and i yanked it all out, now I have no gauge lights, tach, speedo, temp, gas, windowsr what could the power wires be behind the cluster I can check to make sure there connected?

well thats a tricky answer but lucky that i can assist you in most of it... take off the power and ground for the radio... buy some 18 gauge wires 2 different colors and run it str8 from your battery why you ask? because the radio needs to have its own power since your running a system and the radio can be on without the car ignition being turned on. second thing i would do is check all your fuses in the fusebox thats under the dash by the steering colum.. it sounds like some wires crossed and you blew a fuse... the next thing i would do is check how the power door conversion is connected... and see where the power wire is connected too, see if its being relayed or not. another thing i would do is when you connect your radio to the battery for power make sure you fuse it you can buy it from a auto parts store along with the cables to do the wiring... since you yanked out the alarm from your wiring harness does the car start?

fuses first!!!! then get a volt meter and check for the power.. it will be a black/yellow cable theres 2 of them and also a red/black wire theres 2 of those also and those are the only ones that get 12volt power to the cluster
