Default VSS Code

I just finished putting an 04 motor in an 02 Rsx Type S. Everything runs mint. And I mean the motor is quiet, strong, no knocks, absolutley perfect. We had idle problems but swapped throttl bodies and it idles fine now. Then the VSScodes came on so we swapped the sensors from the 02 block into the 04 block. The sensors from the 04 block were differnt looking and have different part numbers. But it was running fine, and the VSS code was cleared and stayed away. Today, for the first time I pushed the car past 6200 Rpms and Vtec engaged and sounded solid. So I got home shut the car off, when I turned it back on, the CEL was on and it was reading the VSS code and the car wouldn't go past 6000 Rpms and now it does go past 6k Rpms but no Vtec. BTW, when the sensors from the 04 were in, it was doing the same thing. Do I need to reflash the engine to 04 specs, or will the ECU take care of this issue by itself?

Yeahhh I have an '04 in an '02. It was showing the VSS code, so I took the '02 Vtec Solenoid Sensors and swapped them with the newer '04 sensors. Code went away, car ran fine for maybe 3 days, then the code came back on again.

Do I need to reset the '02 ECU? With '04 specs?

Try resetting the '02 ECU with '04 specs, or just reset the '02 ECU?

I think 02ecu = 04ecu..., but since you did 04 swap, try resetting it to 04 specs
