Default h22a shifter cable pics.

if you have done or know of someone who has done a h22a swap, please post pics of the shifter cables. i've seen a few different things and some i don't like and other i do. the donor car has a square hole cut under the dash and its not very clean. but i have seen where the factory shifter cable floor board piece was mounted correctly. that looked very clean. they cut a hole matching the cable mount and screwed it down. is there a reason some people do it one way and others do it the other? is it just a short cut and some people don't care or what?

i dont have any pics but i have done probably 30 h22 swaps and i run the cables through the firewall where the factory heater core hoses went through. i found this to be a straight shot and you only have to have the cables make one bend so they dont bind up like they do when you have them snaking underneath the car. hope this helps.

If you went about in that way, i would belive you would have no heater.
Everyone has the own way of doing things. Some are just lazy and dont care, if it works it works right?
On the other hand others care about their car and what they are doing, and a little bit of work is worth it in the end.

i think i'm going to try and mount the thing the cables pass through like stock. if it don't bind in a prelude why would it bind in a civic? besides its not like the outer portion of the cable moves. its the insides. i think you could make a 90* bend if it was wide enough. not sharp of course. its just like bike brake cables and they bend in all kinds of directions. i guess we'll see in a few days. i'm going to try and stuff it tonight or tomorrow morning.

off topic a bit but,
i got the b16a out and prepping it for the hatch. found out why it smoked so bad. there is no crosshatch at all. no scoring just smooth bore. so some honing, new rings and the pct pistons i have and she'll be good to go!!
