Apex i SOHC civic kit internal wastegate/oil leak problem?
I got the apex kit for my sohc civic with the internal wastegate/actuator. I heard you can use the actuator to change the boost level but i'm not sure how. I think there is this big long nut with 2 smash nuts on each side of it that slides on the rod. My question is how would i put the rod back to the stock 5ish psi setting...would it go to the right (away from the brass bell) or to the left towards the brass bell? Also the oil feed line where it connects to the turbo is leaking...i think. We installed the whole kit, fired it up and oil started dripping. I think we found that the blue nozzle that screws into the silver steel braided line is leaky. I put some high temp silicone sealent on the thread and screwed it back in...do you think i need teflone tape on the threads where the fitting screws into the steel braided line? IF anyone can...please IM me at jkan2001 or email me at josephkan@hotmail.com, i would really appreciate it.
You need to throw that aluminum blue fitting in the trash. Get a banjo fitting and the thread on the banjo bolt is real weird. You can use a bolt from an 81 chevy malibu front break caliper. Odd sounding I know but the part list that comes from apex describes the thread on that blue piece incorrectly.
I had the same problem and I took the turbo to this dude who knows a lot about turbos and he steered me in this direction. He was shocked at the piece apex supplies and said that IHI turbos come from the factory with banjo fittings on the oil supply. My set up works flawlessly now.

i don't know if i can throw that blue fitting away...it's actually a nozzle that screws into the braided steel oil feed line, the fitting is just a nut to screw it in. Would it help if i just teflon taped the threads and put high temp sealent all around it?
what is used to make sure it does not leak. if you are using teflon it will most likely leak. use some red rtv. works the best
