Default Idling problem

Alright I want to see if someone can help me find out what's wrong with my hatch. It idles and revs on it's own at random times, or all the time. Just constantly from about 1,300 rpms to almost 2,000. Sometimes it does it really fast and sometimes just slow. The first thing that came to mind is my idler air control valve. So I get down to it, I clean it, cleaned my intake throttle body (it was really black), cleaned my intake, changed my spark plugs and wires, and I still have the same thing. So now I am thinking I have a vacuum leak. I was thinking that maybe it's due to some bad gaskets, so I bought the intake manifold gasket, throttle body gasket, and the exhaust manifold gasket. I am gonna replace them whenever I get a chance cuze right now I am busy with school and work. When my car idles, air comes out of the gasket that goes between my headers and downpipe, and I could see that the gasket looks very black and worn out. So I am going to do that, replace all my gaskets, check my vacuum lines, and if I need a new idler air control valve, I will buy it. But here is the main problem that worries me. When I turn on my headlights my car stays idling at about 1,300 rpm's, and it sounds kinda like if I am giving it gas but I am not. The moment I turn them off my car starts idling like crazy, I turned them on again and the idling goes away, instead it just stays at 1,300 rpms.

What's going on here? I want to do the work myself, and I do want to pay any mechanic to deal with it. It's my first honda by the way. My hatch has a wire tuck, do you guys think that may be affecting it?

try covering the t/body end with your hand and see if it dies if it does then i would suspect its not a vac leak ,...the iacv could just be bad.............good luck

it was a bad IACV. I replaced it with a new one, and the idling went away.
