I am installing a manual steering rack into my ek dx sedan and have heard that when going from power steering to manual steering there are some issues with the u joint that connects the rack to the column. I bought a manual steering rack from a cx ek as i have been told that this combination will work. Does anyone have any information on this? Thanks.

 

i just did mine last week. you hve to use the u joint from the new cx steering rack. the shaft on the dx and cx are different sizes. so to answer your question- get a cx u-joint

 

does anyone have any good links to places that would carry a cx u joint other than a dealership?

 

can anyone else confirm this? were there any dx's with manual steering racks and if so will i have the same problem as if i were to use the cx rack?

 

as far as dx's not haveing ps i have no clue, mine has it, you know there is a much easier way to delete ps right?

 

i know there is an easier way...but in my opinion the right way to do it is actually installing a manual rack that was designed for manual steering.

 

just makeing sure alot of people dont know, and everyone is entitled to their opinon.
