I recently bought an 00 gsr and while i was driving, my friends behind me noticed that one of my brake lights no longer works... but it works when the lights are off, but when the lights are on, nothing. Does anyone have any ideas as to what may have happened. It was working when i bought the car, and my friends told me they watched it go out. I tried a new bulb, but same problem

 

thats the same problem my friend had on his civic. i think its the wiring thats gone bad. not sure if he ever fixed it but i told him that his brake lights have gone bad.

 

might also b a bad brake switch under the brake pedal all my brake light went out check all the bulbs nothing was wrong and no loose wires at all so check my brake switch and it was bad so replace it and everything worked again cost i think $36.99 at auto zone

you can check the switch like mentioned above. I had this issue and it turned out to be the bulbs. I used two different ones and had an issue. Just make sure your connection is good. I cleaned out mine and replaced the bulb with correct one and it ended up working. Good luck
