Victor X vs AEBS experience needed!

Default Victor X vs AEBS experience needed!

current setup

81mm lsvtec w/gsr cams
AEBS intake manifold w/ edelbrock 65mm TB
inlinePRO T4 manifold
ebay T70
2.5 charge piping
31x12x3 FMIC
3" dp and exhaust

Would changing to a Victor X or a sheet metal style manifold help even though I am only

revving to 8200? I don't want to turn this motor any higher due to where it makes power.

I was wondering if this manifold has the same effect on a turbo motor as it does on a N/A

setup. I have been looking for some dyno comparisons but have come up short. Please

anyone with some experience with help answer a few questions.

If I had a stock redline I would stick with the AEBS, the VictorX doesnt really start doing anything until 7K and will probably make less than a SK2/AEBS style prior to 7k...

This is all that I have gathered from research. Short runners + big plenum = top end power

and long runners + smaller plenum = low to mid range power. Correct me if I am wrong

please. What horsepower level would it benefit me to change over or is there an affordable

manifold that would give me the best of both worlds? Like a STR/Venom sheet metal style

perhaps? All I would like to do is have my setup be capable of making around 600 and still

retain my low red line.

Hmmm. I was under the impression that for boosted engines the Victor X was a good choice and it wasn't just top end that you gain on....

And that when running NASP it has different characteristics, i.e the higher power band and need for more rev's.

Purely gospal, but that what I thought?

Well plan on building a 700+hp setup then, because RPM beyond 8200 is where most of us make our power...

I would like to see around 600 with a sleeved block and rev it to 9k at most. But until then I would like

to keep the power as low as possible in the power band and still make around 400 on pump.

Its not really the sleeves (they play a role) its the valvetrain that needs to be upgraded for RPM... I have seen a few dare devils at 10k with stock sleeves/OEM bottoms but no way can you do that with stock valvetrain.

Bump. Wondering the same thing. I'm in the same situation with an AEBS manifold. I want to keep a near stock redline (no more than 9k), so I'm wanting to make more power in the mid range.

I've got crower dual springs and crower ti retainers also. I forgot to mention that.

I would go with the JG over the AEBS any day. But I would take the Magnus intake manifold over anything.

Here's a dyno sheet comparing a Magnus intake manifold vs a JG manifold, it was an all motor b20/vtec. But Im pretty sure the power differances speak for themselves.

Thanks but I would prefer to see dynographs from boosted setups. I know what those

manifolds do on motor, I just want to see what the power curve looks like on boost

comparing the two manifolds.
