code 8/9 need help asap! couldnt finish tune today
heres run down on the car...88 civic dual to multi point. all the wiring is right, checked continuity. tried multiple dizzys. tried 2 ecus. its a b series turbo and i was on dyno today at my tuner and when he would get up in the rpms engine light popped on code 8/9.
we traced all the wires, checked the grounds, changed dizzy twice, switched ecu. the one dizzy triggered the cel light right away, the other 2 had to be up in rpms before it set the cel light on.
my tuner said we went over everything electronically that could have set the cel light, he thinks the last possible thing could be that the keyway is worn out in the intake cam causing fluctuation in the dizzy. does anyone else out there have any ideas? i cant finish my tune til i get this taken care of!!!! im so mad! someone please help

ill try a shot here.
code 8= TDC(top dead center)
code=9CYP(cylinder)
ill try a few suggestion starting with common sence ones of course hahah
when you replaced the dizzy do you mke sure you re did the ign.timing
why oyu had the dizzy on did you check to see if there was any play on the rotor?
are you 100% sure your crank/engine timing is correct? (just fyi my bro's crx was 1 tooth off and it was throwing a code 9...odd i know but once the engine timing was fixed the code 9 has yet to retun.)
.....just some idea's though

the tuner and i went through so many dif things. the timing is all set correct. we even pulled spark plug out to find top dead center to make sure that the crank pulley didnt spin on itself and the timing marks were off.
we tried 3 dif dizzys, they all set the codes off...
im gonna pull the intake cam out tom night to make sure its not too worn out and causing fluctuation in the dizzy
