Get a rubber strap wrench to hold the sleeve in place. You did loosen the allen screw first, right?

I had the same issue when I had GC's so I wrapped one layer of electrical tape around the shock body to keep the sleeve from spinning. It was a PITA to get the sleeves on, but it worked. Later it was even more of a PITA getting the sleeves off when I sold the GC's.

I can stop the sleve from spinning with my hand.

I did the tape thing on the fronts as Patrick suggested, and it worked fine.
Kind of wish I didn't because when I want to fine tune it, I have to pull off some acrobatics to get the allen wrench into the collar.

Clean the GC sleeve and spray some WD-40 on the threads. Tap the perch with a mallet to help break it loose. You should be able to hold the sleeve in place with your hand. And as said above, be sure you have loosened the pinch bolt enough.

Sometimes if the sleeve gets dirty, it can be very hard to get the perch to turn freely just with your one hand while the other one holds the sleeve in place.

I never bothered with fine tuning the height of mine more than full turn increments. I always had the perches set to where the allen bolt was more accessible.

clean the threads, and apply some anti-sieze to them. make sure it works into the threads behind the adjustment perch as well.

i do this with all my gc's (have several sets on various cars) and have never had one get stuck or bound up.
