Default 2001 honda accord ex 02 sensor

My buddy at the shop told me to replace the top sensor so i replaced the top upstream sensor and the check engine light went away for like 2min and now its reading a low voltage code p0131 im thinking either short fuse or bought me a bad sensor. bosch

Those are some of the worst O2 sensors. They are lazy to react to crosscounts and cool off very easily.

Use only Denso, Delco/Delphi, or NTK brands.

Hi there, how is that Bosch sensor doing? I recently ordered exactly the same sensor on Amazon and it's on its way now, but your message is making me concerned that that sensor will give me a hard time. Have you found any solution? Thanks.

Could you elaborate on that a little? Why do they cool off? I thought they had a heater inside? Why are they lazy to react? Thanks!

BTW, I installed a Bosch O2 sensor the day before yesterday. It works well and the check engine light is off.

The freaking Bosch sensor died on me today after 5 days of operation. This is bullshit. I had paid 200 dollars for it (a wideband one) and I am broke now. Can anyone suggest a cheap sensor for me, even if I will have to splice it? The engine is an F23A4. Thanks.

The heater is just there to help warm up the O2(after startup) and get it functioning faster(closed loop) but then the heater times off(Controlled by the engine management). Bosch sensors cross counts are slow, and as you have found out, unreliable. Any well made universal unit (Denso, Delco/Delphi, NTK) should suffice.

Did you ever fix this? Or get a new O2?

Luckily, the problem went away of its own accord. The CEL went on about 3 times with an interval of about 5 days in between, after that it stopped doing that. So the Bosch o2 sensor actually works!
