So my drivers side window will roll up to about an inch before then top then start bouncing up down, so i investigated and found out that the gears are so worn down that they are slipping off each other. Just to confirm before i order one, it's a new window regulator i need, correct?

I don't know which part you're referring to. The regulator is the "scissors" (part 1/3 and 5/10).

 

Known as a very common problem in 96-00 civic's. Fortunately, Honda has updated the part, so if you buy a new one, it will be a good fix

A magnetic driver works great for the window bolts

Do you know where you can get the window regulators? I can't seem to find manual honda regulators since my car doesn't have power windows :s

i thought everything at dealer was wayy over priced :/

 

Some things are, but not all! Other things to note:

- oem fits perfectly
- oem part is now updated
- checking price is a simple phone call away
- some oem parts are "worth" the money paid

 

hmm that's true, I guess I will call my local dealer when I get the chance, and perhaps just buy the part and take it to my mechanic, I am not much of a car guy since I have never really played around with anything as I am often too scared...but installing the regulator can't be too hard..hmm..

 

i actually had my mechanic buy it for me at a wholesale price from the dealer. It cost me $63.

 

try ebay i think i seen em there for like 30bucks..
